present a hilarious guided tour through their unbelievable VHS collection. As featured on The Tonight
Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, America’s Got Talent, Tosh.0, TruTV, and Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Joe and Nick
resurrect these forgotten video treasures and serve them up in the funniest, most jaw-dropping show
on the college circuit. VCR Party was founded in New York City in 2004 and has gone on to sell out
hundreds of shows around the world, including the HBO Comedy Festival, Just For Laughs and
Bonnaroo.
Pizza with purpose
Students can hear Dr. Barringer tell a slice of her life story. From Augustana (as a student) to Chicago and Madison and then back to Augustana (as a psychology professor), Dr. B has packed a lot into her “one wild and precious life” so far. She feels called to develop a sense of belonging—for herself, for Augie students, and for young people in the schools, communities, and prisons that she has served. Students can come listen to her story, as she inspires them to live out their own.
Yom HaShoah Geifman Holocaust lecture
Dr. Ralph Troll, professor emeritus of biology, will speak about his experiences as a young boy during the Holocaust, and his family's emigration to the United States in 1947.
12 Corazones
The Office of Student Inclusion and Diversity invites students to 12 Corazones, a platonic speed dating competition based on a Latin American speed-dating sitcom.
The winning “couple” will receive a gift card from Coyas, two Shedd aquarium tickets and a movie bucket.
This is an all-inclusive event, so all people and sexualities are welcomed to participate. The goal is building bridges and bonds for people who wouldn't normally speak to one another.
Jenny Lind Vocal Ensemble touring in April
Augustana's Jenny Lind Vocal Ensemble will take a three-performance tour April 14-16 in Missouri and Iowa.
Philosophy Club meeting
Philosophy Club meets every Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in Old Main's second-floor Philosophy Forum.
The club discusses ideas ranging from "Is it ethical to steal organs if a life is on the line?" to "What is the definition of knowledge?"
Interested students, no matter major or time of year, are always encouraged to stop by and engage in open discussion. All meetings and readings are optional.
