Augustana congratulates 483 new graduates

Four hundred and eighty-three students participated in Augustana College's 157th Commencement Convocation on Sunday.

Examination of drones wins Ethics Contest

Anne Hopkins, a senior majoring in business administration, is the winner of this year's Ethics Essay Content. Her essay is entitled "Ethical Debate on Drones." 

Bikes, the Chicago fire department and Augustana

During the course of this school year, Augustana faculty members donated another 33 bikes to a program run by Fire Engine Co. 16 in one of Chicago’s poorest neighborhoods. On June 6 at a special event, those bikes, along with several hundred more, will be given to students who have had perfect or near perfect attendance and good records in school.

Augustana loans art for historic Rock Island building 

Augustana College has loaned seven of its works by the painter Frank Lundahl to the Safety Building in Rock Island.

Farewell reception for Pareena Lawrence

The campus community is invited to a farewell reception from 4-5 p.m. for Pareena Lawrence, provost and ​dean of the college.

She has accepted the position of president of Hollins University in Roanoke, Va., and will take office there in July.

Cardboard boat regatta and games

The Office of Student Life will sponsor the annual Cardboard Regatta event in the Slough, followed by Homecoming Games.
