Augustana selects 1993 alumnus to be CFO, VP of finance

Augustana has selected Kirk Anderson, CPA, as the college's new chief financial officer and vice president for finance and administration. Anderson currently is an associate director of procurement finance at Kraft-Heinz Foods in Northfield, Ill. Anderson will assume his new role at Augustana in December.

Augustana College is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its "Five Faith Commitments" and preparing to introduce a new interfaith certificate program designed to "help students learn about the religions of others and negotiate faith in a multi-faith world."

Lecture to address immigrant backlash in a nation of immigrants

Dr. Peter Kivisto, Richard A. Swanson Professor of Social Thought at Augustana College, will give the annual O. Fritiof Ander Lecture in Immigration History on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. in Hanson 102. In his talk, "Immigrant Backlash in the Nation of Immigrants," Dr. Kivisto will discuss immigration patterns to the United States during the past 50 years, and the present tension between immigrants.

Wrestlers forecast to move up nationally

Augustana wrestlers, with two returning All-Americans, have been ranked at No. 12 in the nation in NCAA Division III. Their season starts Saturday at the Wisconsin-Platteville Invitational. 

Free training for parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Thanks to a generous $20,000 donation from Royal Ball Run, Augustana College’s Center for Speech, Language, and Hearing is able to offer a free parent training program that provides classroom and home-based instruction to improve communication with their children. Because of the funding from Royal Ball, the center can offer interested families full scholarships for the second year in a row.
