Augie Sweethearts: Eric Boster and Danielle Miller-Boster, Class of 2005
Submitted by Eric Boster of Atkinson, Ill.
I met Danielle in Public Speaking with Dr. Hilton-Morrow while at Augie. Those that know us best see the humor and irony in this because I am very vocal and Danielle is more on the shy side. Needless to say, when we were partnered up for the final presentation it was a mixture of fire and ice. We gave our presentation on how Augie needed a transport system to and from the District (not that we were encouraging drinking or anything). We also suggested it take students to the library and really anywhere they needed to go in Rock Island (grocery store, Walgreens, etc.). I don't remember the specifics, but I think we ended up getting a B on the project as it just wasn't something the college would hypothetically be willing to support. That's OK, because I think we currently have a bus transit type system now, so we were simply ahead of our time — the "Trailblazers of Augie" if you will.
After graduating in 2005 I could not let her out of my sight. No matter the obstacle (grad school and vet school), I was willing to sacrifice anything to spend the rest of my life with her. Fast forward 14 years and to date we recently welcomed our fourth child into the world on top of having three dogs, three cats, one pony, one horse and a whole lot of happiness. Looking back on it all, I suppose I should have seen this coming. I think I am the fourth or fifth generation Boster/Telleen to graduate from Augie and I wouldn't have changed a thing. Hopefully someday our kids will follow a similar path.
