Augie Sweethearts: Kristin and Tad DePorter, Class of 2004

Tad and I shared some of the same friends our junior year and so we hung out together here and there. The summer between junior and senior year I studied abroad and included him on my “update” emails. He still says to this day that he never read a single one; when we got back to school that fall, we had an education class together and started hanging out more and more.

When a friend of mine asked if I’d go out on a date with him I said “sure, why not?”  She then asked if I’d go on a second date, I responded, “guess it would depend on how the first one went!” But when she followed that up with could I see myself kissing him, I said, “no way!” Well, here we are, married for 11 1/2 years with three beautiful children! Because we both went to Augie, we met, fell in love, and got married; without Augie, who knows if our paths would have ever crossed!
