Augie Sweethearts: Kelly Ertmoed '01 and Eric Ertmoed '03

Eric and I were connected from the moment we met through Greek life at Augustana. On our first date I asked him to join me at two weddings on the same night and he met my entire family! We have loved each other through date parties and formals, late nights of studying and a combined four years of graduate school. On Oct. 29, 2005, five years and one month after our first date, we went back to Augie to be married at Ascension Chapel. With a wedding party filled with Augie students (both alumni and two current students at the time) we couldn't have been happier. We are so thankful to have found such love and companionship in each other, that all began in a place of comfort and support. Augustana is home. Our first dance at our wedding was to the song "feels like home" and it couldn't have been more fitting to tell our story. Our love today is stronger than it has ever been. Maybe someday our two children will attend Augustana and meet someone special to carry on this tradition. Cheers to Augie and cheers to love!
