Augie Sweethearts: Nicole Krampien and Mark Krygeris, Class of 2012

Mark and Nicole both attended Augustana College in the same graduating class of 2012. They had mutual friends, attended Greek life events (Mark was a BOZ and Nicole was a XATT) and even sat four people away from each other during their graduation ceremony. However, they never officially met during their time at school! Looking back on it now, it was fate that the now happy couple did not meet at that time as they were both young and seemingly on different paths in life.

A year and a half after graduation, Mark and Nicole were both back at Augustana for Homecoming with their respective friend groups and more real-world experience, but with plenty of fun to be had! Nicole’s college roommate, Kara (Nicole's future Maid of Honor), happened to be good friends with Mark throughout college, and somehow got the two to be at the same place at the same time for once. While looking for Kara in a bar down in The District, Nicole ran directly into Mark and dropped her drink onto him. While apologizing for her clumsiness, Kara finally properly introduced the two to one another, with the fateful fumble beginning a happily ever after! Mark and Nicole officially got married Oct. 27, 2018, and look forward to having many more years together.
