Augie Sweethearts: Christine Mullady and Jim Fisherkeller, Class of 1988

I met Jim our freshman year in the very unromantic setting of the Westerlin cafeteria, when a mutual friend introduced us. We then often found ourselves in the same friend group, and I got to see what a wonderful person he was to all of his friends. Thursday nights would find all of us at happy hour at Chi-Chis, eating nachos and drinking margaritas.

It wasn’t until junior year when neither of us was dating someone else that it went beyond friendship. We were the last two left in my dorm room after watching Saturday Night Live; I even remember that Walter Payton was on the show that night. This story is very corny: we were lying on the floor watching the show, our hands accidentally touched, and neither one of us moved them. Fast forward to today and we will be celebrating our 30th anniversary this June! Thanks Augie!
