Augie Sweethearts: Patricia Swanson '84 and William Swanson '83

William Swanson asked me to dance at the “Greek Week Dance” in 1980. While dancing, he told me that he had seen me many times on campus and had wanted to ask me out, but did not have the nerve. I laughed and told him I was skeptical. To this he replied “You have these tight, white, painters pants that look great on you.” After the dance, he took me to his dorm room to play backgammon. While listening to the album “LSD” by Alleotta, Haynes and Jeremiah, he suddenly jumped up, and turned off the stereo. I later learned that he did this because the song “You’re Only a One Night Stand” came on, and he did not want me to think I was a one night stand. We married in 1984, now the longest “one night stand” in history! By the way, I still have my white painters pants!
