When you think of your college days, what is a favorite memory?
My favorite memory at Augustana was the day I arrived for my freshman year. The campus was vibrant, I was nervous, excited and even a bit hesitant about what this experience would bring. Though I had previously visited the campus, this was the place I was going to live and learn for the next four years of my life.
As I participated in activities to become acclimated to the college, I was able to engage with people and make friends that I am still connected to 39 years later. It was the beginning of a journey and relationships that would begin to shape me into the person that I am today.
How did your Augustana experience prepare you for your career?
My education at Augustana provided me with critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills. These core abilities and transferable skills have allowed me to adapt and flourish in a number of positions throughout my professional career.
What led you to accept the invitation to join Augustana's President’s Advisory Council (PAC)?
I accepted the invitation to have an opportunity to share insights, expertise and perspectives that impact the strategic decisions and policies which shape the future direction of Augustana.
What aspect of PAC have you enjoyed the most since becoming a member?
I have really enjoyed connecting with Augustana alumni who are committed to giving back, passionate about our students and the future of the college. In addition, I appreciate having meetings on campus, which gives me a purpose to return on a frequent basis.

You regularly attend alumni events in Washington, D.C., and you're hosting a gathering on the rooftop of your office building in August. Why would you encourage alumni to attend these gatherings?
Alumni gatherings provide an opportunity to connect with former Augustana students, reminisce about our college experiences, network and provide a sense of community in the various places we reside around the globe.
Why is it important to you to stay connected to Augustana?
Augustana provided me with the foundation for my professional career. In addition to the pride I have as an Augustana graduate, staying connected allows me to give back by volunteering, mentoring, contributing financially and creating opportunities for future Augustana graduates to thrive and contribute significantly in society.
