Augustana names Quad Cities strategic leader Angela Snyder to new role focused on engaged learning
Augustana College has selected Quad Cities strategic leader and 2002 alumna Angela Snyder to serve as its first assistant vice president for impact learning, a new role designed to connect every Augustana student more intentionally with hands-on learning, career preparation and meaningful work in the community.

This past summer, I had the pleasure of working at Stanford University as an NVIDIA Machine Learning Instructor with iD Tech,a company that offers summer technology camps and pre-college programs for teens.
Fieldwork gives Augustana students a ‘foot in the door’
During the academic year, 14 Augustana students led by geology professor Dr. Jeffrey Strasser will help create a map of a landscape no one can see. Through a collaboration with the Illinois State Geological Survey (ISGS), students are conducting professional research as they use seismometers, collect and interpret field data, and help map the buried Princeton Bedrock Valley.
Augustana brings the drama in 2026-27 theatre season
Who’s ready for a little drama? Augustana’s 2026-27 theatre season has plenty of it, along with soccer, Shakespeare, Victorian-era intrigue and a musical mystery that lets the audience decide the ending. The season opens October 29 with A.R. Gurney’s “The Dining Room,” directed by Christian Haywood ’27.
Planetarium and geology museum to host Oct. 24 open house
Augustana College's John Deere Planetarium and Fryxell Geology Museum will be open to the public on Saturday, Oct. 24, 7-8:30 p.m., for the annual fall open house. The planetarium indoor and outdoor programs will be led by Dr. Lee Carkner. Admission is free and open to the public.
