The Augustana Chamber Singers Choir and Ascension Ringers will perform.
Stop Kiss
The Augustana Theatre studio season begins with "Stop Kiss," a 1998 play by Diana Son.
Two women walking through New York City's West Village very late at night share their first kiss and are attacked by a bystander. One woman is badly injured and falls into a coma.The play explores the depths of emotion and compassion, as well as relationships, as various friends try to help the woman recover.
The story is told out of chronological order: alternating scenes before and after the assault, which is not shown onstage.
Performances will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 31, Sept. 1 and Sept. 2 at 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Sept. 3, at 1:30 p.m.

River Readings: John Holman
Novelist, short-story writer and essayist John Holman will read from his work. He teaches writing and directs the creative writing program at Georgia State University.
Holman has published in many magazines and journals including The New Yorker, Oxford American, Paste, and the Mississippi Review. He is a recipient of the prestigious Whiting Writers Award.
He received a B.A. in English from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, an M.A. in English from North Carolina Central University, and a Ph.D. in English and creative writing from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Holman has taught at several institutions, including North Carolina Central, St. Augustine’s College, and the University of South Florida. He currently teaches writing and directs the Creative Writing Program at Georgia State University.

Martin Luther King celebration
Passing the Torch is an annual community celebration and musical tribute in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The celebration will include music, dance and awards. The Rev. Reggie Williams will speak on the topic, “Solidarity: Use Your Voice.”
The community celebration in honor of Dr. King, Jr., has a long history in the Quad Cities. Original founders included the Westbrook family of East Moline, the NAACP and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference’s Iowa-Illinois Chapter. The celebration now is organized each year by Augustana College and the Dr. King Celebration Committee.
Titanic: the Musical
Augustana presents the "Titanic: the Musical," winner of five Tony Awards April 28-29 and May 5-6 at 7:30 p.m., and April 30 and May 7 at 1:30 p.m.
Symposium Day: Celebration of Learning
Symposium Day Celebration of Learning celebrates work by students, faculty and staff at Augustana. There will be a full day of art, poster presentations, multimedia interactive sessions and performances.
UNYK multicultural dance performance
UNYK is Augustana's multicultural dance ensemble. The group's show will feature dances from many different genres and cultures.
