Viking Connections: Esther Powell
Esther Powell works in resource development and fundraising. Her entire career has been in nonprofit management, including as a grantmaker, a program director and now a development director. She writes grants and fundraising collateral in support of community programs, such as rental assistance, homeless shelters, affordable housing, ESL and HiSET, behavioral healthcare, and more.
"Even though I'm all the way out in the Boston area, I'd love to connect with students interested in a career in nonprofit management. I began my career in the Chicago area at United Way, and I landed that position because of networking. I love my job and the world of nonprofit management, and I've held several different positions in the field."
