The Reading/Writing Center provides Augustana students with an opportunity for one-on-one instruction and advice on writing, reading, and other academic skills.  

O. Fritiof Ander Lecture: "American Rune Stone— Monument, Memorial and Myth"

Dr. David Krueger, author of "Myths of the Rune Stone: Viking Martyrs and the Birthplace of America," will present the 28th annual lecture O. Fritiof Ander Lecture.

Faculty Chamber Music Recital

Kara Bancks, clarinet; Janina Ehrlich, cello; and Charles Schmidt, piano, will perform works by Beethoven and Zemlinsky.

Second City National Touring Company

The Second City National Touring Company returns to Augustana to showcase the best in improvisational comedy and satire.

Exhibition Talk: Dr. Roald Tweet

Historian and folklorist Dr. Roald Tweet will share his stories of the Mississippi Valley, in celebration of the current photo exhibition "Life Along the Mississippi."

Augustana Music Festival

Augustana Symphony Orchestra: Portraits of England

The Augustana Symphony Orchestra will present "Portraits of England," with varied pictures of English life and culture through the lens of the classical music repertory.

Augustana Percussion Ensemble Concert

The Augustana Percussion Ensemble performs a diverse mix of musical styles — from light to serious to “out there” — and participants play traditional and non-traditional percussion instruments of all kinds.

River Readings: Poe Ballantine

Novelist Poe Ballantine will open this year's River Readings series. His newest novel, "Whirlaway," will be out in April 2018. He has published three novels and a bunch of other stuff including the cult-classic "Things I Like About America," cult classic being a euphemism for not selling well. His newest novel, "Whirlaway," will be out with Hawthorne Books in April 2018. He lives in Chadron, Neb., across from the railroad tracks, with his wife, son and dog. The River Readings series is sponsored by the Office of Academic Affairs, the Institute for Leadership and Service, the Thomas Tredway Library and the English department.

Opera @ Augustana: "Odysseys on Land and Sea"

Opera@Augustana and the Augustana Chamber Orchestra will present "Odysseys on Land and Sea," a program of three British musical offerings of the early 20th century.
