Viking Score Class of 2023
CORE has enhanced the Viking Score
The Viking Score is a collaborative career-readiness program designed to support students as they navigate the journey through college and transition to their post-graduate life. Through the program, students learn to recognize the connections between their academic choices and their interests, skills, and work values. They also learn how academic experiences translate into skills and faculty, alumni, and employer contacts lead to professional networks. In short, the Viking Score Card will enhance students’ understanding of an Augustana degree by emphasizing the value of their liberal arts education and its application to their future career success.
Activities marked with an A will be automatically added to your Viking Score by CORE. Students will need to self-report other activities by stopping by the CORE Commons in Olin, First Floor during office hours. Self-reported activities require additional information about the activity.
Earn Viking Score Points each academic year to receive rewards:
• Earn 40 Viking Score points from Career Exploration activities and get an Augie decal.
• Earn 40 Viking Score points from Career Preparation and get an Augustana business card holder and 30 free business cards.
• Earn 20 Viking Score points from Career Ready (either path) and get an Augustana College padfolio.
• Accumulate a Viking Score of 100 points by April 30 of your senior year and you'll receive an invitation to the Viking Score Banquet. This end-of-the-year event celebrates students. Each student may invite one guest who has been supportive of their career success throughout their college career. Students will also receive a graduation cord indicating their Viking Score of 100!
